The National Bible Basketball Association (NBBA) was established in 1985-86 as an o utgrowth of our church's participation in the Eastside Church Basketball League (Penfield) for several years. In our inaugural season we had six teams - four from FBBC, one from Open Door Baptist and one from Bible Baptist Temple.
In our 2nd season, we went to a draft system to avoid stacked teams and potentially setting up rivalries. It has been tweaked several times since always with the goal of having evenly matched teams.
Our current format - 9 teams with 7 players each - was instituted for the 2002-03 season. After playing each team once during the regular season, the top eight teams (there is a one game playoff between the 8th and 9th place teams) are placed in a double elimination tournament to crown the season’s champions. The winning team is awarded championship T-shirts to commemorate their accomplishment.
Ten minute devotions (pep talks) are delivered between the first two games and then again between the last two games. To read more about the purpose of the NBBA, click here.
We hope that you'll find this web site full of the information that you need for the upcoming season. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
