A TRIBUTE TO SCOTT PERRY

Scott Perry played a key role in documenting the action for Men's Flag Football on film. Many of his pictures were used in the development of this site and his work will live on, just like Scott as he enjoys his new home with his Savior Jesus Christ.

A TRIBUTE TO DAVE AMODIO

This ministry is purposed on providing a first class flag football league with the sole purpose to introduce men and their families to Jesus Christ. Dave Amodio was a driving force to help achieve this goal. Dave had a love for the game that could only be surpassed by his love for his Savior. Dave worked very hard during the “off season” to better prepare himself and to encourage others to be better ministers of the gospel. Dave’s big heart and warm smile gave all of us that fellowshipped with him, great encouragement. Dave began his service in this ministry around 1993 and almost from it’s conception Dave labored to make it better and more God honoring. Dave served as a Captain every one of his years. He always tried to give the men on his team clear expectations, and an open ear. Dave was a defensive lineman that caused havoc to Quarterbacks and an offensive lineman that provide big holes and great protection. Dave took his teams to four consecutive Super Bowls and though never winning, Dave was often heard saying, “If one man excepts Christ as his Savior, then it is worth it all”. Dave often gave up his own playing time to allow others on his team’s to get more playing time. Dave personally trained several of the present day Captains. Dave also gave the Half-Time Message on several occasions and always gave a heart-felt presentation of the Gospel. Dave was excited about getting two new fields down at the Sports Park and physically labored many hours down there. His personal project this year was to get a scoreboard for the fields. By the grace of God the leaders of this ministry will see to it that this project gets completed in the memory of our beloved brother. To those that knew Dave, be thankful you knew a great man. For those that never had the pleasure, you have truly missed out, but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will allow you to meet this man of God in glory. Dave fought the good fight and I am sure that he will be hearing the words we all long to hear “Well done, thou good and faithful servant:”. I will miss my brother more than words could ever say.

The following is an recap of Dave’s last message (8/23/03)

Risk – Reward

Jaguars captain Dave Amodio came to tell us that the “risk – reward” factor plays heavy in all aspects of life. It doesn’t matter if it is business, sports, or relationships there is risks and rewards. There are also, truths. Dave shared from God’s word a very important truth – Rom. 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Dave said that because there are those that have not asked Jesus Christ to be their savoir, those must feel a risk in repenting of their sins and asking Christ into their lives. Maybe it’s pride, un-belief, or not understanding. Another truth that must be shared is Rom. 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. “

Mat. 16:26 “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Within these truths, there is the fact that the risk, is not coming to Jesus and the reward is eternal life. We know that salvation (a real relationship with Christ) is not in a prayer, church or in any work you can do, but rather in believing, confessing and repenting. The fact of the mater is there is no risk for the believer or the un-believer, truth about our eternity. I John 5:12 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
