Rules pertaining to: Participation of players and captains:

Players must wear their team t-shirt during every game and appropriate pants or shorts that are modest in length and fit and suitable for the sport.

The wearing of metal spikes is illegal.

Players must be 16 years of age by the start of the playing season (May).

It is required that every team member who shows up at a game be allowed to play at least part of the game.
-
Both players and captains are responsible for any damages done to any field they are using by players and/or spectators. It is recommended that you encourage each other to pick up any trash they may leave around.

Any player or captain who has exhibited unchristian like (unsportsmanlike) conduct at a game and is subsequently asked to leave the game, will be suspended from league play for a period of time specified by the League Director. Rule 10, Section 9 violations and Penalties of the A.S.A. Rule book will be carried out at the discretion of the umpire.
Game Rules:

The umpires will use the A.S.A. rules to officiate the game. They have also agreed to use our own league rules. Any conflicts the league rules will take preference.

Games will be played on Tuesday evenings. If each team has 8 players and the umpires are present: the game must begin on time. If a team cannot field 8 players, they will be required to forfeit (automatic loss). The League Director will make all decisions on field conditions and cancellations.

Run Limits: there is a six run limit per inning, with the exception of the last inning (which has no limit).

Any team is ahead of another team by 12 runs after the completion of 5 full innings for both teams the game is officially over. The home team always has the last at bat.

Only 10 fielders are allowed to be on the field at any time, but all players will bat.

In each at bat, all batters will begin with an 0-0 count.

In each at bat, the A.S.A. 2-strike, 1-foul rule will not be in effect.

The A.S.A. infield fly rule will be called (Rule 1, Sect. 39).
Safety:
-
It is recommended that the catcher wear a mask.

A batter who throws her bat during play will automatically be out.
-
Absolutely NO collisions. You MUST avoid contact on any close play by sliding, stopping and getting tagged, etc.

Absolutely NO blocking home plate. The runner will be called SAFE if home is blocked on a close play. Catchers must position themselves in FRONT of home plate.

While you are in the field (especially if you are catching), if there is not going to be a play on a runner, please get of her way.
General:
-
Only your team captain/co-captain is allowed to discuss a play call. There is to be NO arguing with the umpires. Any infraction may result in ejection from the game at the umpire’s discretion.

If your team has less than 10 players during the regular season, then guest players may be added to bring your team total to 1o players. NO guest players are allowed during playoffs, if they have not played during the season on a regular basis.

If there are any problems/issues please address them to your team captain. If necessary, the captain will then bring them to the attention of the League Director.

Any fighting will result in immediate expulsion from the league.
-
There is NO smoking, alcohol or drugs allowed on the premises.
